UK Headquarters

Lamex Foods UK started off life over 40 years ago having previously been known as L&M Canned Goods Supplies. In the early 1970’s canned goods were dropped and the name was changed to L&M Food Group. Bigger offices and additional staff marked these early years and, in 1975, Colin Dicker joined Phillip Wallace to assist in growing the business.

In the 1980’s the company had grown considerably again and was now operating in poultry, pork, fish, fruit, vegetables and french fries, which prompted another move to bigger freehold offices.

By the 1990’s L&M were a well known import/export company with an enviable track record of growth and profits, as well as overseas offices in the USA and Holland. In 1991 the giant Norwich Union Insurance Group were attracted to the Group and took a 19% stake, which they held for 15 years. Sales continued to grow and the company’s desire to spread it’s risk over a number of product groups and operating countries meant that, by 2006, the Group needed a move to larger offices - this time to new Corporate Headquarters in Turnford Place, Hertfordshire. The product range also continued to grow with honey and juices added to the portfolio in 2006.
